  Started out as Vittorio Rossi in 1902 and began producing bikes in 1906, bought out after WWI by Emilio Bozzi who also owned the Frejus & Wolsit labels. In the mid 1970s, Mr. Bozzi was assassinated by the radical Italian Red Guard party and the Bozzi thereafter family withdrew from business altogether. Later, in the 1980s, Legnano brand was acquired by Bianchi and given brief production including sponsorship of Maurizio Fondriests team..
